MARKUS VALLAZZA
Markus Vallazza (1936, Ortisei – 2019, Bolzano, Italy) is a South-Tyrolean artist best known for his graphic and engraving works. After studying in Florence, he spent a long time in Paris, Rome, Salzburg and Berlin. From 1985 he lived in Vienna and Bolzano. His work was presented in numerous exhibitions, including Secession and Abertina, Vienna; MART - Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Trento; 10th Quadriennale, Rome; Haus der Kunst, Munich; and Museion - Museo d’arte moderna e contemporanea, Bolzano. His works are part of several public and private collections such as Albertina, Essl Collection, Peter Infeld Collection, Museum der Moderne, Rupertinum, Salzburg, Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum Innsbruck and Museion.
MARTINO GAMPER
Martino Gamper (1971, Merano, Italy) is a designer who is primarily interested in the psychological and social aspects of design. Gamper has presented his works and projects internationally, selected exhibitions and commissions include: The Modern Institute at Pollock House, Glasgow; Sir John Soane Museum, London; MIMOCA, Marugame; Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London; Palais De Tokyo, Paris; The Modern Institute, Glasgow; and V&A Museum, London. Gamper was the recipient of the Moroso Award for Contemporary Art in 2011, and the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year, Furniture Award in 2008 for his project ‘A 100 Chairs in 100 days’. Gamper was awarded an OBE in 2023 for services to Design.
